Hello Droogz and Diamonds,

Welcome back to my blog! How are you?!

OMG Ok guys so I don’t know if you knew this or not but I am Puerto Rican American. I was born in New York but my parents were born in Puerto Rico.

From the title of this blog you already know what’s going to be discuss.

I have to put a disclaimer.

What I say here is my thoughts. If you don’t like me or my blog thank you for the view but these are just my thoughts on the matter of the situation.

Back to my blog

This is History making. I know there was a lot of protest in Puerto Rico and even here in New York. Everyone kept asking me. Minx or NL why are they protesting? What’s the big deal?

For many, many, many years there has been a lot of corruption from the government of Puerto Rico. In 2017, Hurricane Maria destroyed the Island leaving in total of death  3,057. With the country in debt and having a natural disater upon the country, becoming a humanity crisis.

So what does this have to do with the Governor resigning?

There were over 800 pages of group messages of Ricardo Rossello and his aides on vulgar, disgusting comments on the LBGT Community, disabled People, politicans and Hurricane Maria Victims.

The people of Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans throughout the world have had enough. This was much more deeper than the Ricardo Rossello scandal. It’s been years of corruption.

In my opinion, this is the beginning of decolonizing the country. However, I am proud of my brothers and sisters of the country I am proud to be from by origin. The protests were done peaceful and creatively.  Even celebrities such as Ricky Martin and Calle 13 went on the streets of Puerto Rico and protested.

On July 24th Rossello resigned his position as governor. This was history making. I think it was best he resigned and try to stay in power. Besides the leaked conversations confirming his participation in the corruption of the government plus his disgusting comments towards other, I think it was best he resigned because if he didn’t, I know the protest that was happening on the Island would have gotten ugly quickly. If you listen to other reports it did mention that after he made his announcement that he quickly left the governor’s mansion through the back exit, away from the crowd.

This is a defying moment in history especially for the country. I pray that we do get an official who is reliable and the people can trust and put their faith into. I hope the next governor is for the people and can restore this beautiful country.

Thank you as always! I am forever humble. Be sure to like, comment and follow my blog.

Be Kind,
