Hello Droogz and Diamonds,
Welcome back to my blog! Hey!
Jordan Peele’s new film US will release March 22, 2019.
Bitch! OMG! OK, When the trailer to the film Get Out was released, Honey I thought it was a cruel racist joke. I thought it was a fake trailer. No, it was an actual movie and a great movie to those who haven’t seen it.
When I saw the trailer for US. Let me say Jordan Peele you are the new Alfred Hitchcock….. I don’t know if you take it as an insult or a compliment, but I meant it as a compliment. I understand people get offended when they get compared to someone else. I do myself get upset when people compare my work to someone else because I worked so hard to be the first me not the second of another person. However, I love what you are doing Mr. Peele and I hope one day I can work with you.
Let’s start off this trailer review.
I love the concept of a family trip so right off the bat I’m loving it. As the family was on the road, I couldn’t help but get the vibe of the film Get Out when Chris and Rose were driving and they ended up hitting a Deer. Not saying it was the same road, but that’s the feeling I got when I saw it. I love the fact production took a classic hip hop song and gave it an eerie feel.
My favorite part of the trailer would have to be I’m guessing the little girl is in an asylum of some sort and she is behind of a little girl that’s running. You do not understand the chills that when through my body when I saw that scene. Like that little piece alone scared the crap out of me.
Another thing guys, I noticed in the trailer, there’s a scene where there are a lot of rabbits and even a closeup of a white rabbit. Now, I haven’t done my research yet, but I am wondering if this is a reference to anything with slavery or racism. Hear me out or rather read my thoughts on this. The reason I thought about racism and slavery because in the film Get Out, (sorry but this is a spoiler) there was a lot of racism in the film. For example, when Rose was on the bed and she is listening to my favorite song Time of my life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. Girl, if you still don’t know what song that is, it’s the famous song from Dirty Dancing. While listening to that song she’s eating fruit loops in a bowl and drinks milk from the glass. When I saw that right away I thought of segregation. Whites separated from Colored. To which, I give tremendous amounts of respect to Jordan Peele for that.
Am I invested to see this film? Yes, I am 100% invested.
When you Google US Movie you will see the reviews so far and Rotten Tomatoes has given this film 100% Which I am not surprised this looks like a great film and from what Jordan Peele has done with the Film Get Out and Won yes baby Won an academy award, I will definitely see this one. IMDB gives it a 7.0 rating which isn’t bad at all.
